COVID-19 Updates
As of February 16, 2022, the State of Iowa no longer requires the number of negative test results to be reported, only the positive cases. So there is no longer a way to figure the testing positivity rate, which is how COVID-19 activity has been measured for nearly two years.
Now, instead, Bremer County will report the 7-day rate of positive cases per 100,000 population. On May 11, it is 92 and is considered to be substantial community transmission spread. You can find this data at: http://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker and selecting community transmission from the data type drop down.
5/11/22 - COVID Update:
As of 5/11/22, we are COVID free.
Please do not visit your friends or family at Hillcrest if you have:
- Tested positive for COVID-19
- A confirmed recent exposure to someone who is positive for COVID-19
- One (or more) symptom(s) of COVID-19:
- Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, congestion, sore throat, fatigue, muscle aches, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, loss of smell or taste, chills, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
As always, we are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure everyone remains safe and healthy. Visitation can continue, however we strongly encourage you to make an appointment with Sherry or Karen. We ask that you wear a K95 mask (which we will provide) at all times during your visit. Please only visit your loved one and remain in their room for the length of your visit. Thank you for your understanding during these unprecedented times.
The latest test visiting guidelines:
The CDC's relaxed mask guidance for indoor settings does not apply to health care settings.
All standards of good infection control must be practiced, per federal regulations: wearing a mask, maintaining social distance from others, and practicing thorough hand washing/sanitizing. Anyone visiting an assisted living community or nursing home must wear a mask upon entry, regardless of vaccination status, and answer screening questions upon entering and exiting the facility.
